Ever want to raise your hand and say something to corporate management?
As holders of stock in a company, investors do have the ability to take an active role as the owners of these corporations. One way to do this is through filing shareholder resolutions. Topics that are addressed include corporate governance, climate change, political contributions, pesticide use, animal cruelty, gender/racial discrimination, pollution, problem labor practices and a host of other issues. Shareholder resolutions are then presented for a vote to all owners of a corporation.
We have filed the following resolutions since 2016:
- Enphase Energy Inc.
- Issue a Sustainability Report
- Dunkin’ Brands
- Report on Integrating Sustainability Metrics into Executive Pay
- Environmental effects of their K-Cup product
- Cage-free egg use in supply chain
- Anthem Inc.
- Report on Integrating Sustainability Metrics into Executive Pay
- Dean Foods-GMO Reporting
- Actavis Inc-Issue a Sustainability report
- BioMarin Pharmaceuticals-Issue a Sustainability Report
We actively seek ideas from clients who are particularly interested in certain issues and in many cases collaborate with non-profits and NGO’s on their topic of expertise. Also, we consult with clients who are interested in filing their own shareholder proposals with their existing stock positions.
